Hey everybody
Heading down to the Columbus area this summer and I was wondering if anyone knows the ins and outs of busking in Columbus. Laws, pitches, licensing, etc. etc. yada yada.
Any tips would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks,
Jason

No idea what the downtown Columbus rules and regulations are but there is a huge indoor/outdoor complex shopping precinct that opened there last year and who employ performers to animate their high end shopping experience, they pay well and Taxi, Hilby, the sillypeople , myself and others have worked there.
If you are going to be spending time there then its worth contacting them.

Call SHadowbox today.
I think they still have some weekends open. I'll be doing a weekend or two for them this summer. Martin is right, its not a bad gig and they pay well. I did the gig the first and second years they were running and it has aways been worthwhile.
As far as Columbus itself, I think they streets are closed to performers. Actually I think there has never been a tradition for street performers just throwing down and working, so the chances are that by default they are not friendly to street performers.
