This news item from WAWS:
"New leadership in St. Augustine
St. Augustine could be in for big changes, especially after electing two new commissioners and a new mayor...(irrelevant material deleted)
Mayor-Elect George Gardner wants to bring street performers back to St. George Street.
The performers, along with historic re-enactors, were banned from St. George Street after a long fight because city leaders felt they caused congestion and confusion.
Gardner says he'd put them back in some areas of St. George Street and make them but permits. Gardner expects the St. Augustine City Commission to re-visit the street performer issue sometime next year."
BTW, I pick up on a lot of news items through the google news feature. I've entered some keywords, such as "street performer" and "street musician" and the stories apprear, relatively fresh in most cases.
