Springfield Massachusetts...the most incredibly dull city on planet earth.

I've never seen an act in the streets, and when the Karamazov brothers came to town, the audiences were disappointingly small.

Aside from contacting City Hall and doing whatever permit stuff I'll need, 1) has anyone ever done Springfield before? and 2) how do I warm up a cold audience who's not used to this kind of thing?

If I were you I would get down to Boston and check out the scene. I learned a lot from just watching acts. Also, it's probably an easier place to start busking than one that's not so busker friendly.
