I am wondering if anybody have any information or tips about busking in Hong Kong.

Havent worked there personally but Martin J Arkwell tells me that:
"500 years of street grifters, swindlers and hustlers make it hard to get anyone interested."
also
"you have about 2 seconds after making eye contact with some one to interest them/stop looking at them before they scream fuck off. They're really good at that"
So. Could be fun.

Never worked street there, but we did Nightclubs and Restaurants and Hotels. There are dozens of nightclubs and big restaurants, both for Europeans and Chinese, where you can perform, either on Hong Kong, or Kowloon. Just walk in and present your promo kit. There will be a lot of negotiating, so start high. Once the deal is done and hands are shaken, you're solid. Don't fall for the low fee and all the food you can eat deal- Chinese food 3 times a day gets old real fast!

I worked there at the handover in 1997, it was great fun but the hats where small. They do have a street performance culture you just have to adapt. I was just busking the street and because of the time it was the shows were good and you could busk almost anywhere their was space in either Kowloon or Hong Kong.
However I did hook up with several local ex pat performers and they where contracted to perform in the botanic gardens in Kowloon.
Could be worth looking into.....maybe you can just go their and do shows but it would be better to try and get them to pay you first. The guys I were hanging with were on a retainer and had their hats out.
Good luck
