I have a couple of weeks to spare, early August. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I can perform (with the least hassles) during this time.
I have the option of flying in to either Rome or Paris. (but do not neccesarily have to stay in either!!)

Looking back at earlier posts, it seems italy is quite friendly - can the same be said about france?

Cheers, in advance. rolleyes.gif

A) Do you speak French?

B) Do you speak Italian?

C) Italy is poorer than France. MUCH poorer.

paris or rome ?
PARIS
paris has only one legal pitch witch is called the pompidou center its a huge pitch with generaly three performers taking it in turns to play you can get away with playing in english as ther are loads of tourists .NOTRE DAME this is the best pitch but it is completly elegal to play but the cops go by every hour so if you see lots of indian guys selling stuff infront of the cathedral it means the coast is clear . if you do get busted just be real cool with the cops and ther generaly ok outher places are the PONT ST LOUIS wich is ok when the cops feel ok and ST MICHEL wich is cool at night just keep an eye on your stuff. the hats in paris are good
ROMA
lots of pitches and the cops are cool the hats are quite shit but life is real cheap ther can be alot of performers and some times none
piazza navona is workable all day till 11pm and trastevere santa maria is workable from 10 pm onwards the pepole are real cool here but not many speak english but they are real good audeince and will watch you with enthusiasm if your good !!!
SO THER YOU HAVE IT
see you around cheerrs

Quirk , dont do it , The basque country is absolutely fantastic at this time of year . Go to Zarautz , stay on the camping .For such a small place the Basque country has a huge population , and theyre all on holiday . And my god , they party like no other place in the world , and generous too . I cycled past a few years ago and stayed for the whole summer. The only thing going for Paris at this time of year is that all the French have left for the coast .
