Hey,

My friend is a juggler circus kid etc. He lives in Miami near Coconut Grove. He went to Coconut Grove and city hall and they said they don't have a permit system or allow performances. I thought this was odd. I thought that i remembered someone (Taxi?) mentioning having worked there before. Any one know? I looked at their website, no luck. Also, any other good busking spots in Miami?

thanks

I don't know anything about the Grove, but buskers are welcome in Bayside - you need to contact the marketing director there (sorry, I don't have his card on me, but he's really cool, and once you are in - you can come back every year, abd just go to the office and pick up your street performers badge.) It's a very warm crowd, mostly Cubans, but they don't have a lot of money....so don't expect to make a killing...It definitely helps to speak some Spanish or use Latin music for your show. They don't have many big shows there, but some balloon-clowns and face-painters are always there. The management doesn't restrict you in choosing your location within the Mall, or whatch what you are doing, and everybody is really friendly.

And if you are in Miami during Calle Ocho - carnaval in Little Havana - go work there, there's about a million people on the street, anything goes.
