The icons in the horizontal line below the body of each message are all quite useful.
Farthest to the left is the Lightbulb icon, which is "on" http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/on.gif if the person who posted the message is online and logged in to the forums and "off" http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/off.gif if the person who posted the message is not logged into the forums.
To the right of the Lightbulb icon is the BIO/Profile icon http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/profile.gif Clicking this will give you information about who posted the message. (It displays the info that you entered when you registered)
Next is the P.M. (private message) icon http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/sendpm.gif . It is for sending a private message to the person who posted the message. This is not EMAIL, it is a message within the forum system that only that person can read.
Next is the Email icon http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/email.gif . It is a link which will open a form for you to use to send an email to the person who posted the message. The email address will not be displayed to disarm spammers who troll bulletin boards like this looking for email addresses. Fill out the form and send it off.
Next is the Home icon (for home page) http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/home.gif - It will link you to the person's web site if they have one specified in their profile. The link will open in a new window.
Next is the Search button http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/find.gif . Click this to search for all other posts by the user who posted the message.
Next is the Buddy icon http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/buddy.gif . Click this to add the person who posted the message to your buddy list. You are able to send group messages to your buddy list.
Next (to the far right) is the Edit Icon http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/edit.gif. Clicking this will allow you to edit the message (IF IT'S YOUR MESSAGE) and repost it.
The last icon on the right is the Quote icon http://www.newperformers.net/forums/images/quote.gif . It's a "REPLY WITH QUOTE" button. Clicking this will copy all the text of a particular message and prepare it in a fresh "Reply" box so you can reply directly to someone's exact words. Kind of like replying to an email message with the >>> arrrows.
