View Full Version : We should get a specific pitch list

Hey Jim or anyone for that matter. We should put up a big list of all the known pitches in the world, and break it down from Country, to City, to Pitch, and give info on times that pitch is workable,(like afternoon or evening, weekends or weekdays, time of year, etc) contact numbers of pitch (like to audition at Granville Island in Vancover for example), and other variables (like is it a downtown square, a market place, a park, etc. Rules and Regulations, what kind of jokes work and don't and more)

It would be a lot more detailed and helpful for people travelling to new places and trying to work out tours for themselves than anything we've got on the net now. I know a lot of performers would be against this because they don't want to let others know about what's going on, and invade their home pitch, but personally I think it would be a great tool to start up. I'd help give lots of info about the places I've been and so would others, if you're interested Jim.

Any opinions?

I googled "busker" and see that Traverse City Michigan has instituted a permit system. $40. Good luck.

Byron,

That's one of the things I was working on last winter. Then I got busy and put it on the back burner. Now it's the heat of the season and I probably won't get to it for a couple of months. I'd like to have a database of pitches that people could log in and add to. Sort of a collaborative effort.

For now, that's what this forum is for.

Just start a new thread called "Granville Island, Vancouver" and post away. More people will add to it with their own information and comments. Then start a thread called "Pier 39, San Francisco" Etc...

I will have a specific system in place to handle the information once I get time to work on it. Probably in September or so.

Use this system for now. It can handle it.

Jim

P.S. If anyone out there knows anyone or is interested in working on programming a database and application to run it, let me know. Being in the Northeast USA would be a plus. (I'm in Boston.) And this would probably require a few weeks of work. I've had a few offers, but I'm always looking for new ideas.
