Ok, I know that there is some old thread hiding somewhere here about pitches in London or elsewhere in the UK, because I vaguely remember reading about it, but either I am going blind or am too jet lagged to find it.
Any info about london? I am still a rookie on the street and would probably be better on a smaller pitch so I can practice more often without fear of taking away time and money from the vintage crew, even though I recognise the value in working the big pitch as a beginner...

does such a thing exist here? anyone know? what about outside london... scotland or wales perhaps?

There is an article in the library about Covent Garden. A bit old it is, but when I was there a couple of months ago, I experienced that not much has changed. But be aware that fire is completely banned now, light a cigarette during your show and you're off.

It is a hard place to work, so be prepared. I came there, with a couple of years experience "to develop a new act" but vague ideas were not quite enough. Allow yourself some time to adjust to the place and to make your act work for you. At least, watch some shows before having a go yourself. You definately need some money in reserve, so that you have the time to work on your act. Bear in mind that London is bloody expensive.

When I went there a couple of months ago, I wasn't very well prepared and didn't have any money. I found myself struggling to find a new approach, but as I had no money in reserve I had to leave at some point. But I'll be back one day...

Good luck!

David
