Volksfest is closed to performers from the looks of it. Guess they are scared we might distract people away from them over paying for rides, food/beer, and carnie games. Walkby might be possible outside if you don't have a crowd. I'm in the pedestrian mall, at the moment.
Munich was easier to gather a crowd, more rescrictions, but harder to get money out of at the end. I'm stick to Stuttgart for a while, at least if it ever stops raining.

hello,

while performing in dusseldorf, a friendly audience member mentioned stuttgart as a fantastic place to perform. as this was just an ordinary citizen, the tip is questionable. do you have any pitch info for stuttgart. is it workable for a medium sized circle show?
thanks ahead!!!

It is workable and home to 2 circle shows, who rarely work the street. While I was living in Germany it became one of my regular pitches. Unfortunitly its not worked often, because not much money is to be made. Both of the performers mentioned work do corporate bookings instead. Saying that I've done medium to large circle shows there, on numerous occations. However just before I left, they tried to stop the show under the musicain legisation which rescricts amplification and heavily rescricts which hours of the day your allowed to work. I managed to agrue that I wasn't a musicain and that other circle shows have worked outside the regulations successfully including myself for some time. Of course I was friendly and professional and invited the city officer in question to watch my next show which he did. He enjoyed the show, and decided I wasn't a musician afterall. I also had managed to convince one of the other circle shows to come out and join me for the solidarity affect. Don't expect to make much, treat it with care and you'll find a crowd.

Act professionally, dress professionally, work professionally and you'll be fine. Dress like a hippy and the police will quickly show you the door.

Hi Mike,

any other suggestions.i'm off to london for a week or 2then amsterdam mid sept

My suggestion for you is to come to Amsterdam beginning of September and join our protest event on the 5th. You could 'sell' balloons for signatures ... ;-)

See other topic in this forum and www.straattheater.info

Cheers,
