I have heard from someone recently who was doing some robot work and there is at least one regular musician, but I have never tried Oxford because there is not an obvious pitch. The busy High Street doesn't have quite enough room for a show during the day although it might be doable at night when the shops are shut and you've got a pub, theatre, restaurant crowd around. There is also a really nice big pitch called Gloucester Green near the bus station but unfortunately it is too big and stark and never seems to have enough people around.

Anyway Oxford could be doable but not easy I would guess.

In this area I have heard that some acts have been seen in Reading. And many years ago I did some good shows in Cheltenham. Both of these places would probably be best on a Saturday daytime, keeping shows short but doing as many shows as possible. Same story in Coventry which actually has a really nice purpose built street performers ampitheatre in the city centre. Oh and don't forget to try Birmingham. It's a great city. There's the shopping crowds and there's also the pub crowds if you can handle the rowdy ones.

Hi

I am a student of anthropology at Oxford Brookes, and I am currently doing a project about Oxford buskers' use of the internet. I would love to hear from anyone out there who busks, or has busked in Oxford. Ideally I want to interview people, but this could also be possible by email.

Look forward to hearing from someone, hopefully.

See you

Antony
