would like to let everyone know that we are having open auditions January 1-5.

This audition is for the spring/summer 2004 season.

We are also looking for statues, roving entertainers, etc.

p.s. The dates of this audition are at the same time as the Outback Bowl in Tampa. So expect large crowds!!!

Open auditions?!?! Who took an open street pitch (which I worked nightly for 2 years from its inception) and turned it into an audition-only pitch??

Jeez, talk about a royal f++k up!! Give a small-minded person a little more authority than is good for them and this is what comes out of it...

An 'open street pitch'
Is this public land or private?

'nightly for 2 years',thats kind of sad when you think about it.
But hey, still, whatever bleaches your hair.
Sounds like a transfer of a little power rather that lost freedoms.
(and in the land of the free too. who would have thunk it.)
If you incepted it they should at least name it after you.

Because our event has bands which are hired by the Festival, most of the park is very difficult to work because of the volume. However, we do have several pitches located on our promenade that we are currently looking to fill.

We have an area designated for "guests" wishing to perform on their way through.

We welcome all new acts!!!! We also reward those acts which make our event a NIGHTLY success!!!!

I can only hope that those things that have been changed about our event, only make it better for people who are wishing to perform at a pitch with no back stabbing, politics, bickering, and other childish antics that i have seen in many other pitches i have visited.

Sunsets at Pier 60 is a festival that happens nightly two hours before to two hours after sunset. We are a VERY family oriented event which is situated next to a playground.
During our inception, we were an "open" pitch and in trying to fashion ourselves like Mallory Square's event we were open to anyone wishing to perform. Unfortunately, during these times, some performers didn't know how to conduct themselves, or adjust there show to our Family environment.
We have grown vastly over the last 8 years since i have been performing here. We have rules and regulations that are strictly enforced and we are looking for performers willing to comply.
In return, we offer a "pitch" like no other in the country!!!!
