Turns out I'm going to Rotterdam, and going to try and book linz. Anyone know the contacts or dates or locations or anything about anyother fests in either austria or holland or anywhere else nearby.
basically, where do you go from linz if you want to stay in Europ for July.
Thanks
Love DynaMike

Hey...
Just sent out some stuff to Linz, so we might meet there... Not sure about Rotterdam. I live there anyway...
For this summer, I definately want to go to Aurillac (http://www.aurillac.net) in August. From the site I understand it lasts two weeks now. It used to be one weekend, so there might be a little suprise there. For circle shows, you'll most likely to end up in the off section. Lots of competition, little money, but lots of fun. (And Francaises)
Arts de Carrer (http://www.artsdecarrer.org/festivalbarcelona/bac.htm) can be an option as well. Again: lots of stiff competition, working the Ramblas which leaves very little space for circle shows, little money, but hey, you're in Barcelona with full accomodation in the city center!
I've never been to Tarrega (http://www.firatarrega.com/) yet, but maybe this year I'll go. I heard it doesn't have an off section anymore, so stay away from the Guardia Civil if you're not booked.
Chalons dans la rue (http://www.chalondanslarue.com/) is also on my wish list.
And for the rest, buy yourself a good dictionary, surf here (http://www.straattheater.net/links.asp) here, select 'festivals' for 'categorie' and the country for your desire. (France - Frankrijk, Spain - Spanje, Holland - Nederland, Germany - Duitsland, etc. etc. )

Would love to return to Canada one day and I am pretty sure I will... Get in touch if you make it to Europe...
Hey Mike,
We applied to and did not get Linz last year. People that I talked to said its a hard one to get. Good luck with that though...
We worked Leidseplein (spelling may be off) Square a couple times, and even though our sound system pooched out, we got some pretty good shows off. Just head to the pitch just before noon or 6pm and whatever artists are there draw for order. The only rule is you had to stay down there until your show (no taking off and coming back later for your spot). July...oh...we did a festival in Colmurano Italy, but you'd need a silent show (or speak pretty good Italian) to make that fest work for you. We did the Leeds Rhythm Festival, in the UK which has acts every weekend all summer. Don't know if it's up this year, but the girl who hired us can be reached at:
allison@eventi.co.uk
They were really nice. They also do a festival end of July/early August is called the Stockton Riverfest. We only did a couple days 'cuz we had to high tail it back here to the Great White North, but it ran for 10 days. Both fests were paid, no busking.
That's all I got for you...good luck buddy!
Brett
