This thread is now about things i barely remember from my childhood.

That magic shop is one of them.

I believe my dad bought me a magic fun pack from there, the only item of which i can remember was a fortune telling fish.

somehow the magic of a piece of cellophane curling up on my palm never really ignited a spark that said 'ooh magic!"

It no longer exists. And the Castle of magic/drug paraphenalia store on Colombo is temporarily closed.

and i still don't know what they're actually called, despite emailing several 'party specialist' stores.

Kim - Castle of Magic is moving premises, from Colombo into the Shades Arcade.. No sign of them there yet.
