Ok New Orleans,
Its a tough town. The Big pitch is on Decatur St in the french Quater. There is a lot of stairs that you seat people on(long build). But if you can pack the place then you can make big hats. But be prepared for confrontation. Other pitches include Jackson Sq. in front of the church. It is loud as hell here and there are many rules. Like no shows during church services. If you have a good show then you can also do well here. Another spot is on Royal St. The city closes down Royal St. every day for performers to do there thing. It closes daily @ 11:00 and opens for traffic at 4:00 on weekdays and 7:00 on weekends. The store owners are the people to watch for here. Dont expect to get rich with out a lot of work. There are also other spots that you can do a grind show if thats your thing. If you come to New Orleans bring enough money so You can leave when you want to but just keep it in your shoe.

Did anybody ever tried to work outside of the French Quater? At least during Mardi Gras? It is a big place, there are zillions of people on St.Charles, totally bored between parades...It may work, at least for clowns...As to the quater, same "No Bourbon after 8pm", people get arrested with no warning. If you need further details - e-mail me.

You need permits to perform in New Orleans.

Ask in police how to go about getting this. Just don't ask any Mounties on Bourbon St.

the permits aren't terribly expensive.
