Hey everyone. I am just starting to busk and i was hoping for some advice. First i was wonddering if it would be best for me to come up with one large routine or maybe a few small ones using different props. I generally do some contact juggling, toss juggling(3 ball/club), diabolo, and some devil stick. I am going to be busking on a board walk with a lot of people and not a lot of room. Also i can't do any fire or knives cause of the regs on the boardwalk. The board walk is about 20-30 feet wide with a tram going down the center. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

First of all I wish you well on your busking endevors.
The best thing you could do is to go reasearch the library here on performers.net
http://www.performers.net/library/index.html
Also I find for myself that shows around 20 min in length work well. Maybe even shorter if you dont have much room.
Just my thoughts,

sometimes I wish I could sing and play the ol instruments because then I put out the hat and there is just a beginning rather than having to worry about a middle and an end.People are on the move where I'm at so I take all the fluff and dump it and if it goes over 15min. and the same people are there, its a good show.

Hey , good luck mateyboy .
Listen , bubbles work really well as a way of getting yourself noticed , children will appear out of nowhere .When working on a walkway , you have to keep it short , neat and full of energy , or at least I do .I worked o lot in Barcelona , and used contact juggling lots .I would do the butterfly , look someone in the eye and say hello, with a smile on my face , then move around the audience . Id do a bit of juggling then finish with diabolo , high throws of course.Hat the people , then do more bubbles . Easy no ?
Busking is a fantastic way to travel , meet people and have fun . After my first day on the street , I thought I would never go hungry again , and I havent , Ive just got loads of other addictions , ho ho .
