View Full Version : PDF writer
Seems this is where this should go.
I am looking for a program for writing PDFs of contarcts, promo and such.
I have no interest in shelling out all the money for Adobe, I just want one of the programs that "writes" PDFs via the printer.
I have tried DocuCom PDF Gold and it causes conflicts in Outlook when using Word as my email editor.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or words of wisdom.
Thanks y'all.

You could try pirating it from LimeWire or something. Just don't wear an eyepatch and a parrot on your shoulder or you might start looking suspicious.

suck up the cost of adobe...it is the best out there and will do everything you need.
the cheaper knockoffs will not have the features of adobe.
I know on the mac, you don't need any other software.
You go in MS Word to print, then on the print dialogue select Print to PDF and it just saves ya a nice PDF file.
looks like this does it too. I didn't really read into it. http://www.pdfonline.com/
Also, here is a great resource for information like this: http://www.google.com

Do you mean to tell me I can actually just Google "PDF writer" and find information about it on line?
That is amazing!
But I was actually looking for some personal insight.
As for just sucking it up and buying Adobe; I just don't see my self tinkering with graphics enough to justify it.
As for pirating it; not so much my way of doing things.
Doesnt seem that Word on Windindows offers the PDF option.
Oh well, I'll keep looking.

I @#?!ing hate word, it's such a ridiculously bloated piece of...
anyway, it can be easily ripped out of your system and replaced with Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) , which is free, and has an option under the "File" menu that says "Export as PDF". Dun
I highly recommend this thing, there is almost no learning curve, it has all of the same stuff as MSOffice, in all the same places, it just works better, faster, has more stuff, and it's free, and open-source.

oops, Dan beat me to it
Open Office looks promising.
I will read up on it.
Thanks!
Downloaded and installed OpenOffice.
As for the PDF feature, 100% happy with it.
I will play with the rest of it over time.
Thanks for the info.
