It seems to me that Robert is saying that he, in fact is ugly and that he is thanking you for appreciating not only himself but also his ilk.

I don't think anyone's ever drawn me. I draw everyone, but nobody's drawn me. ...Well, except for once in college. But that guy scared me.

Yea, but it took him like three hours to shade your upper lip. I think it's probably about the best drawing he's ever done.
