I'm going to be in Adelaide from March 12 - 30, so if anyone has a place for me to crash or suggestions of cheap accomodation close to the city, that'd be much appreciated.

Hi Kim, I was there last year and had a great time...will be there again this year. I stayed in a hostel (about $30aus a night) for the life of me i cant remember the name though although it was at the end of the street where we all worked at the opposite end from where the spiegle tent was. Im in dubai at the moment and may have the card with the details on at home in London and will try and look it out. see you in march...

check out the nurses' resedence at the adelaide hospital. last two times i was there that's where i stayed. super cheap, hospital clean and right around the corner from the park and mall where the shows are.
call ahead and reserve, they used to alot an entire floor for fringers.

So heres the skinny on Dubai...No busking or areas to busk...they wouldnt pay any way...Its a paid gig with a contract, flights and accom, easy work as it were, and always a change of performers...the night life is all in hotels as they are the only places that can serve alcohol supposedly and being a predominantely Islamic country certain rules and regs have to be strictly adhereed to...

The Nurses quarters are all booked up, as there are a bunch of other conferences etc... going on at the same time.

I'm looking at getting a twin room at a hostel nearby... open to better offers though...
