Dear Hanto:

Thank you for including me as part of the e mail list you sent out.

I am now in semi-retirement (doing occasional consulting and the odd event) and spend most of my time in Thailand.

You have asked that I forward your information to other street performers.

I must tell you that I will not do that.

In my many years spent as a producer and presenter of Street Performers Festivals I have always felt strongly that any "competition" amongst street artists is unhealthy and destructive. By offering a "prize" (even the extemely modest one mentioned in your email), I believe that you help to set artists "against" each other, rather that trying to foster a spirit of co-operation and mutual assistance.

Please reconsider that aspect of your programming.

I intend no disrespect above, nor do I wish to engage you in a prolonged debate; and hope that you accept my reaction in the spirit in which it's given.

I'm certain that your intentions are good .........now all you need is some money to pay your atrists.

I wish you every success..........just please kill the prize.
