Planning on heading out to Europe for the first time and was wondering where is the best place to start. I've heard Denmark is great in late June/early July and is a good place to begin. Any suggestions from there?

Copenhagens a good place to start out.
Its got the longest pedestrian st in Europe (The Strolia-spellings completely wrong) and while in the day its hectic and more or less unworkable, come the evening when the majority of non tourist businesses shut its peppered with various street performance, there are a couple of established pitches where you line up but theres also heaps of room for just selecting a doorway and banging one out.
check out christiania which is a 20/30 year old 50 acre squat/alternitive community not far from the city center for possible entertainment purposes (or just to sit in a tree)
You could stay there all season if you wanted but they start hassling at the end of the season so try to get out by sept.
daytimes the only workable pitch I know of is the 'round tower' which is on a pedestrian st that comes off the main ped street.
theres a courtyard there and usually a few people trying to work but as theres a ballet school in on of the buildings if you make noise you get moved (and sometimes fined400 of whatever their sheckles are)
Don't bother with a permit, no-one does and even if your insane enough to bother after youv'e been to first the council then the major cop shop and got all your stamps you are designated one spot of their choice in the city and told you cannot ask for money nor have anything on the ground that might suggest money could be put into it. Its a permit for public expression not commerce.
Don't put yourself through it, my mind nearly snapped.
Its full of shiny happy blonde people with disposible incomes who all speak english (and their queens a lesbian and buys her veg's at the corner store)
Have fun.
