Stop BIG DROP

Hey there
I have a story from the weekend here in sydney and i just wondered if anybody else had similar stories.
So i finished my show at circular quay [sydney] Collecting and i see a $100 bill go in,i say "holy shit, whoever that was thanks alot" then i see a $50 and another $50,by this point i'm going out of my head,But then a lady comes up and says "you know who that was, bruce springsteen" then she says "hi i'm patty springsteen and this is bruce"
Turns out bruce and his wife and kids, security and manager were all watching the show,i had picked two of his security as volunteers in the show,i got some extra cash from them aswell and his manager gave me ther number and said "next time you are in the states call us"We had a chat for about 15 minutes, all the regular questions that people always ask,it was a bit extraordinary.

So to get this straight,i got a $300 drop from bruce and his entourage and the thier phone number, all on a slow day when i was the only one who would attempt the last show at 6pm,goes to show that those times you don't think it will be worth it ,it will.

Just want to know of any similar stories of BIG DROPS.

Al, We all know you have a ray of sunshine emanating from your arse. Your signature photo says it all. You didn't have to rub it in with a story like that.

Congratulations.

I was in Barcelona and there was a juggler Andy Snatch who once got something like two hundred euros for haveing a moment of silence for the 9 11 attacks. A year later. I was dumbfounded and had to skin up.

I kinda hoped street performers were above making a buck out of that day.

I was having a really bad day as they all were at Universal City Walk. No one there gets half my jokes and I just work super hard for minimal applause. I went home for the night and in my bag, amungst the ones I had a $10. The greatest night last week! It could have been a celeb. I'm in hollywood you know. Some guy a few weeks ago also asked me to call him when I visit the Castro in SF. He was no Bruce, but it was nice of him. I'm still not at that level.

so you have a moment of silence to show that you are not oblivious to the current events, and sombody thinks it's touching enough to leave a big tip. How does that make you a low life?

To be fair, Andy's motivation was probably nothing to do with increasing the hat.

(one minute of sombre silence kinda kills the 'happy smiley' vibe in a show).

And, he didn't really deserve to be the target of my comment...

It just disapoints me how often people jump on a disaster like Sept 11 to further their own financial or political cause.

My whole show is a moment of silence and I explain to the audience afterwards that I do it all for the memory of Bambi's mother, whose premature death was a crime against deerkind. The children in the audience, who up until then have been laughing and joyful, are often brought to tears by my somber explaination. But really thats the price the world has to pay as I use my occupation as a performer as a vehicle for my political beliefs. People think us performers are shallow but some of us really really upset about injustice, I mean really really!
'Joke- joke, juggle-juggle,joke-joke, meaningless death, heres my hat.'
On par with evangelical clowns

Martin, I think I've got an old audio tape of your show! I sometimes bow down to political humor. I think we all have days in which we become so frustrated that we push some ethical boundaries! I just wonder how I sleep with myself sometimes. Then I'm reminded that nobody else will sleep with me! Still waiting for the big hats!

Wow,
Al,it is good to see you doing so well still in your life.
What are you going to do with the money, man?
*Fluffy dice for your new sports car!
*A welcome mat for your new prime real estate in one of the most expensive city's in the world!
*Or maybe a new folder for your portfolio of stocks you have on the market, that I am sure are doing really well, still!

Anyway I am sure you will find some thing to use the money for!
Hear's and idea for you, that I am sure you have not thought of yet.
Give it to a homeless person,or some one less fortunate, the next time they ask you for help!
Even though you have already decided to say no,before they have even asked you for help!
Give it a go................................................ .........it might make you feel good, longer than putting this post up,on the P.Net.

Taxie,
the difference between me and many other top money earner's is that I take the reward from my audience these days and put it back into the show.
I am a product of there reward.
All I have to do is do what I love, and the rest works itself,my friend!
I do not have any assets or saveings.Nor do I wish to have them, just for today!
I have a life, that I have been given and I do not take it for granted.
If any one comes to me and ask for help,I give it to them.
No ?'s asked,because I know I am being looked after,no matter what!Were ever I am.
My wealth my friend is on the skin of my body ,in what I do in my life on a daily basis and most of all with in me!

Good to hear, Luckie.

You are so honest and generous.

I could seriously use about 35 grand, ace.

Question

Er, Taxi; weren't you listening?

Lucky said that his wealth is on the skin of his body.

Hey, Lucky? Forget 35 grand... could I have the little bits of skin between your toes, an armpit and maybe a little bit off the top of your left ear?

I'll pay you back next Friday.

I'm leaving after working a festival today with Cozmo, a one-man-band named Paul, and Checkers, a balloon guy, when I smell another show in the air, and drop down and get to it. Its fast and fiery, and the producer smiles as she stops by.

Turning my back to the crowd, I hear the best laugh of the whole day, and wonder. It has to be explained to me. As I was bent over into the taxi trunk, a bird shit on me, and nailed me with what, on later inspection, proved to be one huge, many-hued crap, ranging from brightest white right through the spectrum to pure black.

Does this count?

I bet Bruce Springsteen doesn't pay $300 for a burger though.

Well done you bastard. I once got a phone number in a hat, phoned it up and got a nice gig in the channel islands (flown out by personal helicopter with my kit) and got a 100 tip on top of my fee. I was a bit chuffed myself.

My partner and I were working a restaurant, she doing face painting and I magic and balloons last Sunday. We got home and someone dropped a $20 bill in her hat for face painting. Hell the most I ever got was $10 from a large family with abt 8 people.
