Question Effects on the performing world by new President.

What effects do you think new President, Republican George Bush, will have on the world of Street Performing?...in the United States or the world...if any.

I thought this might be an intersting topic of conversation.

well he could sign a bill that kills the everglades, that changes the water balance, that makes florida sink, that destroys disney world, that changes the entire balance of power among the bigass corporate world, that makes the economy crumble, that makes all the other countries that hate our guts giddy, that incites a world war, that may kill all of us anyway. But in all likelihood he'll just make for some good late nite TV when all the comics diss on him, and nobody will want to go outside anymore and watch real entertainment. who'll need it with a clown like him in office? ugh.

Now that the elections are over and little georgie has won, the rest of the world has stopped laughing and America comes down with a thump. (see "Gravity") The Blues will make a come back ("Oh No" they say. "Yes sad but true") (Rich might like to add a butchered bit of Bye Bye Miss America Pie here).

well i've seen it said that gravity is social construct. not to be taken seriously, but hell...
not to mention that our (America's) entire political system is based on the principles of Newton's and Galileo's physics... that our checks-n-balances and entire electoral system to begin with is contrived on the notion that the world works in a mechanical way! there's the problem!! hundreds of years of science has us seeing the natural world now as quantum and organic and unmechanical, but the system stays stagnantly and stubbornly glued to old philosophies!? and yoyos like Dubya get into office while the universe cackles and levity lifts our skirts to reveal (ooh...) what color underwear, Prof, would you say?

The elastic broke and the inevitable evil presence of gravity grabbed the opportunity and left us bare-arsed again?

seems so
and this time even the strong-willed garter belt has gone snapped. but really the question is this... if it holds true that no energy can be destroyed, only changed in form, if we suck in helium will our farts smell funny? that's a question to write congress about. i propose a full research initiative

No no Karen, if you swallow, as opposed to inhale, helium it has no affect on the smell of your farts but the sound does go up 2 octaves (you do have to be patient to observe this affect and while helium is an inert gas, it is wise not to have a naked flame nearby). Wayne Newton (yes a distant relation to Isaac) brings it up in his wonderful book "The Higher the Voice, the Greater the Laughs" but unfortunately he got it arse around. Don't know it if was bare or not, but it does improve acoustics, if you wish to repeat the experiment at home.

Our current Prez could give us all some lessons about the natures of both swallowing and inhaling. Maybe that’s what his philandering and inebriating propensities were all about… an grand experiment… a derisive attempt to challenge Newtonian precepts…
No wonder Hillary, education monger she is, didn’t divorce the prick… Entropy…

A ridiculous joke someone once told me....
Mr Clinton was interviewing for a new secretary! After he made a shortlist, he invited one of the hopefulls into his office.
"come and see my clock" said Bill, whereupon she goes into the office to see Bill stood there with a huge erection!
"that's not a clock Mr Clinton" said the girl.
"It'll soon have two hands and a face on it"...Hee Hee - the old ones are the best (Yawn).....

If George Bush kills the everglades and florida sinks, he loses the election. What an irony it would be if he sank the state he sold.

Hey!

Al!!!
Welcome aboard, or is that abroad? (Heh heh)

Here's one I just heard on Politically Incorrect (not that anyone ever accused me of being that):

Ques: So what is the difference between God and a Supreme Court Judge?

Ans: God doesn't think he's a Supreme Court Judge

I guess you could substitute Richy (er, Lucky) Rich's name for Supreme Court Judge and it'd still be the same joke... actually funnier ... at least to me...

see, I'm not actually stealing material...

In a shock announcement Dick Cheynee has announced he is no longer going to serve in international top level politics. He's still going to be Vice President to G dubya, but he won't be active at international level....

When asked to sum up his policy regarding Europe, George Dubya asked his aides to remind him if Europe had voted republican and if not why hadn't they campaigned there.

true
so then think of the irony in that this election made Americans choose between bush & gore ... sex & violence ... the two pervasive icons of our twisted culture. but i guess we got it all, voted for the bush and his sidekick dick.
if we think of it all as an allegorical word game maybe it won't seem so baaaaad ?!

What effect will George Dubya have on street performing? Easy, no one will ever again receive a ticket, a fine or a night pondering their career choice in a jail cell. From now on the punishment for performing with out a permit will be DEATH BY LETHAL INJECTION!

Wear a bomber jacket, look as dumb as you possibly can, talk exceptionally slowly, bat your elyelashes and convey a mental age of three years old. Then tell your audience that you are performing for all Americans, not just the ones that voted for you. Tell them that by the end of the show all rifts will have healed, the cold war will have been rekindled and naturally, and economic depression is on it's way because America has a Republican Government.

I never used to do impressions, but Bush is so easy.

It's going to rain much more on street performers because of increased global warming thanks to the idiot who just pulled out of the global warming treaty.

I remember when the USA was a growing economic super power, before it decided to recess into a small family business.
