Default Getting in Trouble

I am SOOOO BORED.
I HURT!!@%
I was not meant for this sort of 9-5, computer work.
I'M BORED!! I HAVE PUPPETS TO BUILD BACK HOME!!
It's moments like these when I always get into trouble! I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M CAPABLE OF!$(!! CRAZY-ARSS TROUBLE!!!

Quick!! Someone give me some sort of task to carry out or secret game to play while I work, so I can avoid getting fired. I like these people. They're very, very nice to me. And this job is easy money to support my fun-having habits.

I can report back on the tasks I carry out. HELP! BORED! TROUBLE!!! I'm BEGGING you!

(I reserve the right to refuse a task which conflicts with my morals, ethics, or sense of humour.)

Start writing everything that you have to write for work as limericks.

hmmm. I'm having a hard time with this one. I only write anything about once every two weeks and when I do it's usually just the word, "revised". This is a job for the illiterate (my kind of job).

And every limerick I write inevitably begins with "There once was a man from Sheboygan"... and that's where I always get stuck.

...I feel like messing with something in the kitchen or the bathroom.

There once was a man from sheboygan
who liked to play with his toy gun
whenever he fired
he was inspired
to imagine that he was a boy again

This game may be inspiring for you.
My stepdaughter loves it.

On friday I started a discussion with Ryan (a photographer who's rather intelligent, but looks like he's 15 years old) and Tony (who talks mostly about food and has biceps that won't quit).
I asked them if eating human placenta is cannibalism.
Ryan asked, "Is eating your own boogers cannibalism?"
Tony simples answered, "Yes. It is."

Today I feel like drawing a wiener on the women's bathroom sign, but of all the girls here, I think people would assume it was me.

That is one of the funniest things I've ever read here.

Tony, Ryan and I started a spontaneous push-up club.
Two other animators joined us today.

...oh, and I gave my notice.

I understand the "Support your habit" angle but man, some things just are NOT worth it. Glad you're going back to what you love, even if it's difficult.

Supporting the habit was making the habit impossible.
It was nice support though. Commercial rates beat the crap out of my good art rates.

But my grant* doesn't kick in until I deliver the complete product, so I shall be "bridging my finances" for quite some time. It's very unlike me and very frightening.
To give the job time to find someone new and to start production on the film when I need to, I had to give my notice before getting the contract or even knowing what the grant* is offering. Even more frightening. And if the final product turns out to be a giant pile of pucky and not at all what they thought it'd be, they do reserve the right to not use it or pay for it. Even even more frightening. ...But I'm sure it'll be ok. ...exhale.

*It's actually more of a broadcast fee disguised as a grant. Grants generally give money upfront or throughout production. This is for the Bravo Network. They do it for broadcast. They have a style. Luckily, just about everything about this story (thanks, Martin) fits their style.

Anyway. I'm excited. I've been sleeping on the basement floor for two months and I've transformed my bedroom into a studio. I've been screwing brackets to 2x4's to my heart's delight and on Tuesday my 9 foot roll of green screen arrives.

I know little about lighting.

I plan to continue doing pushups with Ryan and Tony until I leave the job. And maybe I'll draw that wiener on the sign too.

Today I finished up my round of pushups with a headstand. About 7 bucks of change fell out of my pants. That was cool.

Tony brought in cookies today.
I drew a picture of cookies and left them in the kitchen for everyone to share.
