Yes it is designed as a camcorder system, but the output is universal.

It is just a 1/8" output. it comes with an 1/8 to xlr connector and also 1/8 to 1/8 and then you can buy adapters to go onto it at guitar center or elsewhere.

it is great, the frequency is adjustable by half step variables and if you want it to it will scan itself for the best frequency.

you do not need to pay 1000$ that is the 500g2 model, look up the 100g2 model it should be about $500.

there are other cheaper options out there though...Look up camcorder systems, they are all run on battery power and all should be compatible for any output.

I think AKG has a system and also audio technica.

Default An update

FYI, I ended up buying the ew100g2 for around $400. It's working out great.

I tried the Crate tx15; shoulda listened to Frisbee--it was too small, and I really had to struggle to be heard. Now I'm using the Limo, and it's working out great. Yeah, it's a little big, the tx30 probably would have been perfect, but I had to go with what was available.

In the end, I spent about twice what I wanted to, but it's an investment, a write off, and most importantly, a really useful set up.

Thanks, Fris. for all the help and info. I owe you a beer, at least.

glad it worked out, the ew100g2 is the best I have also found now the past few years.

I just got a new limo too...I thought I had found a stock of TX-30s online and was going to post it and when I placed my order and did not get it I called and then they said they did not know why there was a delay, I told them about the fact they were discontinued in production and so I was back to the two options again.

In fact the limo is not much heavier then the tx30, I am sad though that they went back to the wood casing on it too, the plastic injection molding made them about 5 pounds lighter. I guess they say the wood casing had a more full sound which is why they went back.

Re case it.
I just saw Mr.spins taxi amp and he reduced weight and size by building a new case for it.
Plywood would be much lighter than the thick wood composite it's made of originaly and if you're not a muso you're unlikely to hear the difference in sound quality.
