Default excess baggage

Anyone ever have any success within europe disguising there excess as sporting equipment in order to be charged less.
Why is it that sports people can bring stuff on planes for cheap but circus folks can't ?

I didn't know about that. They must have a better lobby group.

actually it must have been a good idea from one airline trying to get all the ski travelers from the other airlines, and the rest followed. They will never make it cheaper for business travelers to fly.

Have you ever thought about putting it in a bike box or a golfing bag?

I got a skate ramp through in a bike box...

People keep suggesting that we put our gear in a snowboard bag or golf bag, and we're going to try it next trip. I'll keep you posted.

Right now, the rule seems to be that if we're checked in by a woman, we pay excess baggage. If we're checked in by a guy, we have a great conversation about circus and don't pay.

C'est la vie.
