Default new website, need feedback

Hey this is my first website, I created it myself, I would love some criticism, I've never created a website before, so don't hate too much

Default quick note

O and quick note, the Resume section is sort of under construction, It's going to be a lot less wordy and have all of the festivals and well as some libraries in there

I'm guessing it's a template from iWeb? yeah... I would say that rootberry should change their site and hire a real web designer considering they are working constantly and can afford a real website.... but I guess since they are working constantly they don't need to get a real website.
aron, good start. You should start saving some money toward nice professional promo photos. nobody reads anything, pictures are the most important element along with a good deign (iWeb is fine for someone on your level). that being said, pay close attention to everything.
all my friends from high school think I'm making butt-loads of money because I have pro-looking photos on my website. Secret is that I had them done by a student working on a project for class.... for free. Now I do my own because I have my own studio..... (my web page is sooo out of date)

if you come to PA I'll help you with promo pics. my studio session day rate is $400.

I concur with evan making things as nice as you possibly can goes a long way. That being said, staying within your limits is also important.

if you can't get in a studio with a seamless backdrop, try and find a setting that makes sense for you..... not the front yard (unless birthday parties is your target market). maybe in front of a moving carnival ride with lights (would require some knowlege of lighting with a flash). Maybe you riding unicycle past a bicycle shop with nose in the air. Juggling fire on a fire escape or in a parking lot fire lane. try to make everything in the picture help tell the same story because if it doesn't it's just a distraction.

one more thing. good for you for getting this up and out there. I remember having a really hard time getting my first round of promo out there.

also, that shot of you juggling stage balls on the unicycle with one leg... for some reason I envision that in front of a school that just let out and dozens of children are running past you, bookbags and all. wouldn't make the most compelling promo for you, but it would be a fun shot.

Default website

Aaron,

I like the line about mimes -- open the page with that. Given that you are a juggler, maybe the first pic should be of you juggling?

It would be good to add text of what the audience/ customer gets with your show -- are you funny? dangerous? highly skilled?

Dave

( Overall, a nice site.)

Scot

I was gonna say it looks fine.

I assume you're not a high priced act. if you're not competing with rootberry and you don't mind a smaller paycheck for the time being, work on promoting the site, not on fixing the site.

It's pretty cool to see how much of a difference photos make on the same soggy template.

when you're chosing pics to put on your site, look for photos that show your face.
