Default This economy and your performing

I had no idea where else to put this. So, I thought I would start a new thread.

I'm just curious as to how many of you are faring with the economy at the moment?

I'm not a busker. I'm booked more often as a paid act. But, I'm discovering my competition this year seems to be the free acts that the local festivals and events can get from their churches, dance schools, or karate demonstrators.

I attempted busking and sucked greatly at it. But, appreciated the opportunity and the lesson learned. My (no pun intended ) hat is off to those of you that make a living passing the hat. It's not easy work I know.

I usually, have lots of festivals booked for the season. But, have only one. This particular weekend of this post, there were about 20 festivals and I wasn't at a single one. Pardon my whining. But, I'm curious about this trend and how it's affecting everybody else.

What are some of the stories you are experiencing?
