Splicing 5[xxxx]3 AKA "State 23 Patterns"
In my last video, I shared the 5[xxxx]3 Group with contains 13 patterns of period 4 "string length". There are subgroups of these 13 patterns with periods {8,12,16}.
This video will explore the equivalence of 5[xxxx]3, also known as (AKA) state "23", with new entry patterns. The group itself is entered once the juggler returns to the excited energy state "23". Define Variables: Let I = The 4 ball fountain pattern (Identity Ground State) Let G = Some ground state pattern (A Ground State Pattern begun in state "15" in binary) (For example: 53. 633. 73333. are four ball ground state patterns.) Let E = A 5[xxxx]3 pattern, one of 13. (An Excited State 5[xxxx]3) Let's first look at the ground state cycles: 53 is period 8. Performing 44444444(53535353)44444444 the identity(I) is preserved. 633 is period 6. This is 44444444(633633) the identity(I) is preserved. When is energy "state 23" attained? That is "oooo" ball permutation in ascii. 53: oooo oooo (This "5" throw attains state "23" and we can enter [xxxx]3) 633: oooo oooo oooo (This "63" sequence attains state "23" and we can enter [xxxx]3) How can we use this? We splice the ground state patterns where desired when at "state 23" and then enter the excited pattern for as many cycles as we like! Example: 6262 (This is one of the 13 patterns) This is an "easy" pattern to demonstrate, since it is 3 in one hand, holding the fourth in the secondary hand. I will not employ "hurried 2" throws, and will use the "hold 2" for this siteswap demonstration. Since I am right hand dominant when I juggle, I will use the following sequences to demonstrate: (4 Ball left hand start) G(1) = 53535353 G(2) = 633633 53535353 5[6262 6262 6262]3 535353. 633 63[6262 6262 6262]3 633 633. Notice that I used "5" immediately as the cycle starts on the first swap in the 53 splicing. This pattern is chiral, and I am doing "lefthanded" 53 so that my "5" enters into 3 in one hand with my RIGHT hand. I then exit and resume G(1). In the second sequence, I entered the excited state with a descending "3" state transition throw. Since I am a right dominant juggler, is used "633 63" to enter the excited state, and the exit "3" completes the cycle of the ground state pattern. This splicing method can be used for ANY EXCITED GROUP, as long as you map the sequences to the entrance node. In this case, that was the "23" or "oooo" state group. Enjoy juggling! Notes: Study #2 has a few errors: [6262] * 6 is correct for both sequences, not [6262] * 3. Also, any ground state that transitions WITH STATE 23 can be SPLICED for group 5[xxxx]3.  JSMWNYC
