I'm going to Barcelona on my way to Castellon for the Fiesta de la Magdalena from March 14-22. I've heard that it's been tough in Barca for a while. What's up now?
I'd like to work the Ramblas again. It was the best in the 90s. Thanks- Rami |

I was in Barcelona for a corporate gig in December, and walked Las Ramblas a lot in day and night, weekdays and weekend. Jam-packed for the holidays.
There were tons of human statues, bands (with amplification) and solo musicians. There were circle shows in the square by the Cathedral of Barcelona, but there was also a festival going on and they might have been connected. I asked cops about performing, they said I needed a permit and directed me where to get one. They said I didn't have to be Spanish or an EU resident. That's what I know ![]() |

What did the permit for Barcelona cost, how long is it good for, and where do you get it?

I've brought CDs into the Schengen area a number of times with no problems; while I'm always prepared to pay duties on them I haven't yet had to (knock on wood). I have gotten flak flying into the UK with an instrument, which was for personal songwriting and not performing, even though I didn't have CDs on me at the time. However, they did still let me in.
