Default Alaskans need circus gear!

Hi,

I've been charged with outfitting a circus camp in the REMOTEST part of Alaska (Barrow). Money is scarce, and shipping is exorbitantly expensive. (A new Renegade globe costs more to ship than it does to buy.) So, I'm looking for any help in the form of cheap or free gear that's in usable shape. I'm especially looking for juggling equipment, spinning plates, diabolos, and devil sticks. I also need some span sets and a web.

Make me an offer. Thanks!

P.S. Doing nice things for native peoples results in good kharma . . . or so I'm told.

I found some instructions online on how to make juggling clubs out of newspaper, or your own wooden peg stilts. If you are interested in them I can re-find and post the links? I have not yet tried to make any of them. As far as stilts, my daughter is the one who walks on them and I had no wish to see her fall with something I made so I bought stilts. The clubs I have been too busy, and chicken, so far to attempt them. It can take a couple of attempts for me to get something like that right.

Hey, thanks. I think we're good on stilts, Roman ladders, rola-bolas . . . anything that can be made from wood. I'm interested in props that users here might not use much anymore, or be trying to unload.

Greg,

I promise you that Palin's never been to this part of Alaska. Google Barrow. It's tundra. It's a 5 hour flight from Anchorage. It is NOwhere . . .

I'm in Anchorage right now working with aerial and college students - I can't answer your immediate challenge, but if you need it for a future resource, there are four or five students here with aerial competence and their own aerial equipment.

PM me if you ever want their contact info
