Default Virtual Soundman iCue2

Anyone using the Virtual Soundman iCue2 for sound management with their shows?

I had the old 7.5, it died, so I switched to an ijet wireless remote/nano ipod. This is just not working great for me now. So, I am thinking about upgrading to the icue2.

I know a few people who swear by them...I am thinking of getting one now too.

I also have the ijet and it sucks. 150" is just not true.

The best of those remotes I had found was the aerolink, but I think they have stopped production as the website for them says out of stock now for quite some time and they are not returning my emails....

I know people who swear by them too, until they suddenly fail at the show where it really matters like a NACA showcase. And then customer service sucks so it doesn't get fixed in a reasonable about of time, or at all.
Other than that they are really the only remote that actually works well around other wireless sound gear.
For my college show we do all the sound cues from a keynote (powerpoint) presentation and use a presenter remote to control it. It works fairly well, but does have it's limitations, and the main reason we really do that is because we have slides and video cues in the show as well.
the icue has features that you really can't beat.

I don't have the money to put out for an iCue. I've tried the iJet (sucks much of the time) and the two-way iJet (sucks completely).

I've had some better results with my iJet by hooking it on my belt by a retractable key ring; that way I can make sure I'm pointing the transmitter directly at the receiver.

I went to the Aeorlink site, and although they say they're back ordered on the receiver, they list the transmitter as available, and it works on the same frequency as the iJet. So, sounds like they're pretty much the same system, but perhaps the Aerolink just works better. I may try to combine the Aerolink transmitter with the iJet receiver and see how it works.

The number for Engineered Audio (Aerolink) is +1 (636) 898-1597. I'm waiting for them to call me back.

I stood by the aerolink folks for about two years, their product was superior in range to all I found, it was actually pretty close to at least 60-75 feet of signal strength as opposed to the 5-10 on others I have found...including ijet.

I do not know what happened with aerolink the past year, but they will not return calls or emails and I got so frustrated by their lack of customer service now that I do not reccomend anyone to try them or bother with them any more and look for another alternative.

If you can find it, the scoche system of wireless remote claims to have a great range too....but I have yet to test it.

Icue seems like way overkill on an ipod remote.
