Angry RANT HERE

Ok it's only January but it's time to start that pent-up ranting.

I really HATE when popstars/pop music tries to get intelligent/social conscious/ or religious.

That Sophie B Hawkin's piece of shit "what if god was one of us" was just on the radio. "What if god was just a slob like one of us?" she asks.

To which I answer, (s)HE WOULDN'T BE GOD, THEN, you stupid cow, but a SLOB!

I hate when popstars get all on the ecology thing or whatever. Look buddy, you're a singer in a pop band because you could barely hack high school. Where do you get off lecturing us about "the issues?"

Shut up and dance, monkey! Dance, I say!

etienne my love:

Est-ce que tu a perdu ta tete a Paris?

Why such an vacuous rant?
Bored darling? No matter.

So what if Joanie asks such an inane/ possibly poignant question in a pop song?

But MOREOVER,
how can little you or little me presume to define god? Silly.

Pop music, poignant? What's next the Spice girls with depth? If I want "meaning" I'll play in a Leonard Cohen CD and if want social consciousness I'll listen to some Georges Brassens. Top 40 is mass marketed "oohh baby baby I wanna get wich yooo" sugar coated cheeze spread. That's what it's meant to be and not that there is anything wrong with that.

When it comes to pop music I want to see Kylie wiggling out of her pantsuit cooing "La la la - LA LA la LA LA" or madonna crawling across the floor and lapping up milk from a bowl.

and boybands? DANCE, MONKEYS, DANCE!!!

On the other had, these same popsingers seem to think that just because there is a microphone in their hand they've suddenly become a positive role model. Worse, they seem to think themselves intellectual authorities.

Oh please.

Besides, if Joan Osborne (thanks for the correction. Something in the cocaine I'm sniffing made me forget) wants to get "deep", maybe she could think of better questions than "if God had a name, what would it be?"

His name would be HERSCHEL, I know cause he told me when we where introduce at Lenny Mirkowitz's Bar Mitzvah two years ago.

OH I GET IT!

So, WORST, as a periodic boy band impersonator yourself, you also periodically impersonate having intellectual authority. Cute!

Moi, je suis avec toi, Etienne.!Por Exemplo!, Je pense que Bono de U2 es un fakir.
This supposedly politically conscious Irish lad (Remember "Bloody Sunday"?)grovelled on bended knee before and was knighted by the queen of the Brits.

What's up with that?
!Yo No Se!
Sur l'autre main, j'aime Phil Ochs, Chuck D, Tupac, The Coup,et

Salut!

Just bought Robbie Williams new album... BRILLIANT. This is what pop music should be.

The duet with Jon Lovitz!!! Hilarious! Every track a winner-- well, I'm still undecided whether the virtual duet with Sinatra is genius or garbage...

Doubt this will get released in the states...

Fuck the pop stars, I've had a shitful day and need to rant.

Why is it that half the world will crucify me for drinking alcohol yet tolerate my enjoyment of hashish, while the other half of the world will jail me for having a smoke and run a significant part of it's economy selling me booze?
I want to pick on lots tonite.
What's this so called "World" Comedy Competition in the the "Gigs" line. Yeah, really? Where's Edinborough, Melbourne, Montreal.
Shit, it sounds like a baseball tournament to me.
Regardless of that, where is the prize?????
They are only offering some-one a fair wage for a good product as the so called "Prize" but they'll make heaps out of all the people who work the "auditions" in their venues.

While I'm at it, LDR, Greg, Richie, you really pissed me off, you tattooed whoos, you raised some great issues then deleted them?? For years maybe decades I knew little about listening, reading and writing saved my life.

And before I go, I have to say that I have seen few things more disgusting than the recent performance of the Australian Government, it's foriegn policy over the last 5 years and the people who re-elected the racist, lying, corrupt (insert favourite obsenity, plural). I'm glad I'm not american.

I thought I grew up in a happy society.

Hey Trev,

I can hack it just fine. My personal fears and insecurities have nothing to do with my elation that Steps is no more. I hate the smug pretention that so often goes along with the performing arts and pop stars are usually the worst offenders. Look at Bono these days for example.

and as far as boybands are concerned...

I'm also quite happy that I when I was 5 I wasn't handpicked by a chickenhawk to be his monkey while he grinds the organ.

"music gets the message out" since when did N'sync ever have a message?

Etienne,

For God's sake don't get him started. We've been blessedly Trevor-free for quite awhile now.

I propose we change Bono's name to boner, which is more apt.
His recent shmoozing with the IMF and World Bank oligarchy makes me hope he gets a 1 way trip to where the streets have no name.Oh..and I'm also obliged to bitch about the prime time miniseries in the works by the US military. A reality-TV show just like "Cops", except these heavily armed men will be chasing and shooting at brown and black skinned people on other continents instead of inside america's 3rd world ghettos.A change of scenery never hurts, I guess. I hope Bush2 chokes on a cheezie while his boot-lickers GO KICK SOME BLACK ASS!

I'm pissed off at girls who cheat on their boyfriends. There are like three or four girls at the resteraunt I work at who are trying to make boy-toys out of their co-workers. At least they have figured out that I won't do it, but they are soooo hot. I don't know why it makes me mad, but it does. One month before I leave, yea.
O, and I also think that Bush is a terrorist.

I'm currently involved in a huge fashion/comedy/entertainment show. In it is a group of 8 fully grown men dresing up in Charleston dresses and doing the Charleston. I watched them reaherse today and nearly wet my pants! All of them hamming it up and being goofs. I loved it!
I mentioned this funny scene to a someone today and she had this to say "It's great to see what people will do when you give them a license to be an idiot." True and to the point. My rant is why can't we be like this all the time? I love to "act like an idiot" if you want to phrase it like that. It's a sense of pure freedom to act how you want, say what you choose and dance however and wherever you like and have no fear of being judged based on your actions. When I let myself free like this though people cock one eyebrow and ask me what I've been sniffing, smoking or drinking? I realize that there's a time and place for most things but it's been my experience that when you "give someone a license to be an idiot" thier beauty really does shine through and 8 out of 10 people will join in.
Unfortunately most people I know here in my town don't see things the way I do. Perhaps that's why I'm back here for the time being---to either a) show those around me my rose coloured outlook on life or b)learn that not everybody can dance down the grocery aisle while singing Ain't Misbehavin' with a can of Spam in their hand!! (and wearing a feather boa!)HA ha ha that's funny !!!

I think I"m going to make up little laminated licenses that say "You are legally allowed to act like an idiot!" Tee hee hee.

My landlord is acting like September 11th never happened.Doesn't he know that the days of worry-free cash cow landlordism are over? The landlords have to tighten their belts for the good of the nation, and be more flexible regarding rent payments and such, because hey...THE AGE OF ENTITLEMENT IS OVER, GUYS!!..didn't you hear?
The industry is moribund and as the "gate keepers" of housing they are failing miserably to saturate their market. There are still many thousands of potential clients would love to be housed, except they can't meet the landlord's rigid, out-dated and totalitarian requirements. It's time to cut the red tape, and take this commodity out of their conspicuously incompetent hands.
