Default Paul Miller Promo Video Critique

Hi all.

My name is Paul Miller (who?) and I put together a promo juggling video for corporate work. I would appreciate comments.

Hi, Paul!
I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I glanced down at the time part way in... I always strongly recommend 2-3 minutes TOPS for a promo video. Weed, weed, and weed. Take just the best bits. Then take just the best bits of those best bits, etc.
Sadly, no matter how many gold nuggets are in the video, just looking at the 8:25 time alone is going to make me move on. I hate that it happens that way, but it really does.

That's my first thought.

I didn't watch it the first time I clicked on this thread because the time was so long You seem really personable, but your clips can all be much, much shorter. There's a movie saying - "get in late, get out early" - that is, start as your trick or bit is already in process, and cut as the trick almost resolves.

Thank you both for your feedback. I will work on a new versions that is a lean, mean, selling machine.

However, I wonder how it holds up in terms of showcasing a longer routine? It is what my agent asked for as a response to what his clients have been requesting.

Anyhoo...thanks again for the comments and the PM's.

Best

Create a DVD with two strong demo reels ... a 3 minute demo reel (length most clients prefer) AND a longer demo reel with extended clips, for clients who want to see more of your act.

We have a four minute version and a 60 second version, but our act is also mostly visuals. I think having the two demo reels is a good idea. Maybe ask your agent what, specifically, the clients are asking for? Like, we want to see you working with audience members" or "we want to see a whole segment of your act."

Hey all. I cut the video down to 5 minutes and added a second camera angle. Also reshot the interview portion and added a bit of magic. You comments are again appreciated.
