- Spectacle and sadism
----------
Reason
by Charles Paul Freund
"There is so much horror on the medieval stage that modern
scholars of the period are themselves aghast, and have long been
at odds over what to make of it all. Some have been troubled by
features of medieval drama that are potentially applicable to
Gibson's film, too. " (2/23/04)

I guess its much like heroin, it starts out recreationaly but you find over a surprisingly short time you need to increase the dosage of mad links just to remain sane. I'm now on 2 a day. When will it end. For the love of god HELP.( Hey maybe I should ring the police.)

Lonely saturday, big crowds , big hats but afterwards...no-one to talk to. Its so cruel, you appear popular surrounded by an audience you've used the most boilerplate of conventions to secure.
If only they knew that at the end of the day you're all you have, and you don't think too highly of your company. Drink heavily and dull the pain or let your imagination soar.

Default Groupies

I don't know if there's a thread anywhere else about "groupies" or fans, but after reading Martin's post about lonely Saturday nights, I empathize with him.

I know what it's like to go back to a lonely hotel room after a day romancing the crowds. However... I've also had the occasional pleasure of spending some quality time with a "groupie" - a female fan who's looking for fun. Sometimes it's just a dinner date. Sometimes it's more. Either way, it sure beats a hangover.
