Cool Silly People Variety Shows

This just in...The Silly People have just successfully wrapped up another Variety Show in their hometown of Kitchener-Waterloo. It's their 6thish show of it's kind, and a wickid opportunity to hang for the weekend with fellow performers (the likes of Hilby, Taxi, Rob Torres, and Jim have all graced the stage), get your theatre chops back up, maybe try out some new material, and all the gossip you can handle!
ADDED BONUS...you get to hang with Phil's wife Val!
You're not going to be able to retire on the fee they pay, but if you're solo or you work in a duo where your partner DOESN'T pocket the money, it's worth the journey the KW.

Question

Edge,

Nice working with you last weekend.

Just a clarification...

Are you just chatting about the gig or is this supposed to be a place for people to get Phil's contact info to perform in future Silly Shows?

I'll leave this here for now. If Phil wants to post his contact info for future Silly Show booking, this is the place to do it. Otherwise, I'll just move this into the FESTIVAL DISCUSSION forum.

Jim

P.S. I just got home from this gig and I had a great time. The crowd was warm, the cast was great, and Phil's wife Val really is fun to hang with.

Default Mike Wood?

Please somebody tell me about Mike Wood.

Why is mike wood so exceptional that he doesn't get thanks. What did he do?

I am intrigued.

Thanks Kim,

I guess he is easier to show, rather than explain.

Which begs the question: How much Wood would a cabbage chuck if a cabbage was chucked at Wood?

(Answer: About three stitches worth.)

Default Ism

I can feel lots of isms developing here. Albino ism, Goofism, lankism, Complete and Utter wanker ism.

Complete and Utter wankerism is something that I am very opposed to. I have suffered lots of complete&utterwankerist abuse by complete&utterwankerists over the years.

Some of us are complete and utter wankers. Get over it. Accept us for what we are.

I'm holding a complete and utter wanker pride march in Tel Aviv next week. See Ya there?

Kim,

Don’t look for the sympathy vote...we all know that you were not using your third nipple anyways. And at least you still have one good testicle!

Although a lot of people mistakenly call mike wood an albino it is in fact much more serious than that. Mike was born with an extremely rare medical condition called transparentitus. In his natural state (an oximoron of massive proportions) you can barely make out much more than a ill kept crop of hair and various body fluids(all on the unkind side of attractive) seeming floating about unsupported. It is a consequence of his condition that, in order to be seen properly he has to, every morning, apply a full body coat of japanese bridal makeup, that being the only substance, (apart from strangely, bulls-sperm) that doesn´t cause him to break out in an invisible rash.
The makeup makes him look pale and confuses many people into making false assumptions.
In fact the only way to see for yourself the rare phenominon is to strip him forcably and douse him with a high pressure hose.
Try it.

Mike Wood is to street performing what flippers are to pie tins. Dedicated and honest if a tad foolhardy, he is the only performer who has ever asked my permission to lift a line from me, and I thanked him for it, once I had explained that I had plucked said line from Drew Carrie's "Dirty Jokes and Beer".

Formerly the unintelligent half of "Hawaii Two-Oh", Mike has since crawled out from the ominously cerebral shadow of the act, and moved into a unique position, enjoying obscurity of a brand normally enjoyed only by pedestrians.

Add to this that if this were not enough, Mike's hobbies, inland whale-watching,
photographing stone teeth, and underwear darning, tax what remains of his intellect to the absolute fullest, and you will have a fuzzily clear picture of the Wood that is Mike.
