Angry Nobbed it!

Dammit! I get my first corporate gig for ages. Can someone explain why oh why the ONE time in the WHOLE evening i mess up, its when performing for the boss!

And I messed up good and proper too. Damn! Ah well... back to the rehearsal room I guess - certainly won't be doing any more corporates with Amstel again anytime soon!

All the best

Owen

Default A Mess Up

Sometimes you can make a big mistake, and yet if you just smile a lot or crack a joke about it and don't let them see by your discomfort that it's a mistake, they won't even know. Don't forget they haven't seen your show, so they just accept whatever you do as part of the act.

There are performers whose whole act is making mistakes, and they have a great act.

Default what happened

I for one would like to know exactly how you nobbed it so bad!
You're a magician right? Did you, like, make the guys wedding ring disappear and then fail to make it reappear? or was it more along the lines of sawing his wife in half and having to call an ambulance? or did you simply say his card was the 3 of diamonds when in fact he was holding the queen of spades?
Like worldwise says, there's always a way to cover a mistake with a joke and make it appear to be part of the act.
Something like, I got it wrong because I'm still too sober. then grab the nearest Amstel beer, drink the lot and get it right on the second attempt.

Default I meant to do that.

I know music is different from magic and juggling, but we always said that if you make a mistake, i.e. wrong chord or words, just smile and continue as if you did that on purpose; the majority of your audience will not know the difference. and NEVER apologize on stage.

I agree with what they're saying. You know that already though. You've seen a performer who bases his entire show sometimes on a comedy of errors. You'll nail the next one mate, remember heinikin hires every year.

Thanks fr all the feesback folks. TO be honest the biggest mistake I made was simply doing the wrong trick, and not thinking on my feet fast enough. Will be the last time that happens anyway.

All the best
