Received this e-mail today--anyone have any information?

Thanks.

Hey,

My name is Hansel, I run an alternative talent agency that represents human oddities, side show acts, and alternative models. We pay for all performances plus hotel and airfare if you have to travel. I wanted to know if you would be interested in us putting your profile up on our agency's website?

Although we are based in Dallas Texas, in the United States, we will do projects in Europe, Canada, Australia, and all of the United States.

What I typically use for a profile are 4 things:

1) pictures of you performing (if more convenient, I can just use the pictures from your website if you wish)
2) a list of what you do or the acts you perform
3) a list of your credits
4) phone number, email, city & state and country.

I can represent you as an individual and your group if you have a group.

let me know

Thank you
-Hansel

Thank you for the Google link, Scot; I was hoping to hear about someone's firsthand experience dealing with this agency

My first instinct on seeing their website is that they are likely to be dealing with a lot of small club low pay gigs as that particular performing scene ( fetish-goth-whatever you want to call it ) is chock full of people dying to perform but not particularly serious about it. I've done music shows in that circuit before, and generally have been unimpressed with how the talent is treated. With so many hobbyist fetish scene folk dying to be on stage, the promoters generally think they're doing you a favour. However, the gigs could well be fun parties, but I would be surprised if they pay well. This is not always true though, I've also played a leather and denim cruise that was good money, excellent treatment, and very polite clientele!

I'd say approach them in a "we swap our credits" manner, which no good agent/promoter should be averse to. You tell them about your gigs and what you have charged, and they do likewise ...
