Default Couchsurfing.com

Has anyone used couchsurfing.com for lodging? Not my cup o' tea, but for the right person it appears to be a really good thing.

Default it is good shit

I have used Couchsurfing.com on more than one occasion all around the world. I never use it when I am doing shows though. I never feel comfortable moving into a strangers house with all of my shit for a couple of nights, making piles of cash and then buggering off. Its more polite to use the money and get a room.
I use it when I am travelling light and just adventuring around the world.
For this purpose it is priceless. You get to meet locals and the money you save on accomodation you can use to take your hosts out to a cheap cultural restaurant of their choice. Win win.
